I've been at the Current Paying Gig for just over a year, now, on a contract basis. A few months ago, the guy I've been working for at the CPG asked me to convert to being a full-time employee thereat. After a bit of consideration, I agreed. Subsequently, much bureaucratic fun was had by all. Despite that, they finally got an offer letter to me, which I officially signed yesterday.
So, for the first time in nine years, I'm a full-timer. It doesn't change what I'm doing, but it does mean that I can take vacations without that nagging "you're not making any money this week" feeling.
I certainly hope it was fun. There was more than enough of it.
Myself not included; TTBOMK, the main players were the IT department, the HR folks and some number of budget weenies.
