Lucky 13?

Today is primary election day in my Congressional district. As I noted earlier, our Man in Washington decided to take the post of UMass-Lowell chancellor, so we need a new Man in Washington. Or woman, as the case may be; last I heard, the leaders in the polls on the Democratic side were Nikki Tsongas (widow of the late Senator) and Eileen Donoghue (former mayor of Lowell, the biggest city in the district).

The (real) polls opened at seven this morning, and I cast my ballot around ten past. As it turned out, I was the thirteenth voter of the day. Hopefully, not the last ...
